New Service: Thin Client Hosting using SunRay

We're releasing a Thin Client Hosting service today. It is in beta at this point, but we've used it in our test environment for the past few months and it has worked great!

Our thin client is powered by the Gnome and OpenSolaris environment. A thin client's sole purpose is to display graphical information from a system running out on the network, in a data center. All of the moving parts, storage, CPU processing, are all done on a remote server.

Here are some highlights:

  • Save time, be more productive. Instant access, no need to wait for boot up. It is on 24x7
  • Save money. No costly OS licensing fees
  • Secure and reliable. Redundant and restricted access system
  • Lower support costs. No maintenance is required. Application support also available for free of charge
  • Great for developers, with Eclipse and other development software

All you need is a good decent network (e.g. this service likely will not work with a dial up). You can also use existing Windows OS to access this thin client network, using the new Soft Client from Sun.

For a limited time, we would like to extend this beta with free service. If you are interested in trying out this service for free, please let us know!
